I liked the episode, but I kinda wanted to learn more about Scoot's background. Does she have a family, where does she come from, etc., etc. Hopefully, they'll do a Scootalo and Rainbow only episode, and we can fill in the background there. I also liked the Luna cameo :3
I thought it was an "okay" episode. Yeah it did have some good moments, but I was hoping to get more background on Scootaloo, like where she lives or relatives she has. Something. Rarity knows how to "Rough it" in style.
I have put this so far as the best episode of Season 3 yet. Mainly for three reason.
1) Regardless of what some people may have been expecting or not expecting, they kept to the characters VERY well. Their personalities were spot on, and of course, mostly with RD and Scootaloo, they took them one step further in a totally natural direction. The episode fits very well with the continuity.
2) Very well done on an age-appropriate lesson, and handled very well in this case. Hasbro and MLP needs to keep their target audience in mind, and they hit the nail on the head very well with this one.
3) Even though they are still catering to the Bronies (which I love when they do), it doesn't detract from any of the other quality and work they've put into it. Luna, plus ScootaDash Sisterly bonding! Epic beyond belief.
The facts they fit all that together, even if some people are going to be not as happy with the episode, you have to respect the sheer crazy awesome work they are still putting into the series. Season 3, for me, has shown that this is not going to be a temporary fandom. MLP and Bronies are here to stay.
funny out of ALL the episodes this one stood out to me the most not the facing your fears part but the fear of rejection and i think Powell did an excellent job at delivering it! and Luna's ''Everypony must face them in their own way. But they must be faced, or the nightmares will continue.'' bit is most defiantly true. i loved this episode, it had scootaloo and RD finally bonding and Luna's character was expanded more without stealing the spotlight. well done Powell!!
I'm not gonna lie, I ended up squealing and flailing towards the end. I've been hoping that RD would finally take Scootaloo under her wing and act like an adopted big sister for the past 2 seasons, lol.
I'm with you although I can't put a finger on what exactly it is. S3 episodes seemed somewhat cramped and a little exaggerated to me so far. Also I found S1 and S2 to me more heart-touching and lovely, even than this episode.
I liked this episode because it was not only about fear of scary things, but also fear of rejection (which is my greatest fear and i haven't gotten rid of it yet) also, because i wanted and scoot episode and it had some luna as well XD
Some <Character X> episodes, the <Character X> does not get as much focus or ends up getting too much spotlight stolen by a supporting character, however in terms of focusing on the character, scootaloo got a lot of good screen time (Hell, as an audience, we spend a lot of time alone with her), even with the surprise of such a VERY popular side character. Not only that, but it FINALLY establishes a meaningful link between dash and scoot, seeing as continuity was even kept in the episode that it happened, it does mean good things for the future of the pair.
I actually thought up a fanfiction about a year ago concerning Dash and Scootaloo. Scoot would try some super dangerous stunt on her Scooter to get Rainbow Dash to notice her, similar to Bart jumping the gorge in The Simpsons.
While the episode takes a varied approach, i'm glad there that "hnng" worthy Rainbow Dash x Scootaloo moment. We really needed her as that big sister to Scootaloo and with that there it can really open things up to more possibilities. The airplane moment may have been too childlike, but was still cute non the less.
I loved it. Great Rarity moments, Scoot gets acknowledgment and mentoring from her idol, and Princess Luna gets a surprise role where she's shown to be just as wise, kind and caring as her sister. Nothing but love, favorite episode of the season for me.
I kinda liked it. It was cute and somewhat funny at moments. I thought it was rather interesting about Luna showing up, very intriguing, I'm a bit curious how long till folks start to incorporating it in their art and writing.
